Applied Algebra

Pierce County Skills Center

Dates: Session I: June 22 - July 10; Session II: July 13 - July 30 7:45am-2:45pm

In Applied Algebra, you will learn algebra concepts through practical application and hands-on experience. Topics for this course include: problem solving techniques, estimating answers, using ratios and proportions, working with scale drawings, using signed numbers and vectors, using scientific notation, solving problems with powers and roots, using formulas to solve problems, solving problems that involve linear equations, graphing data, patterns and functions, and systems of equations and inequalities. Students need to indicate on their application which sessions they plan to take. 

Students must returned completed Math Approval Form including counselor signature with application in order for the application to be processed.

Applied Algebra A (1st Semester): Session I
Applied Algebra B (2nd Semester): Session II

THIS CLASS IS NOT NCAA APPROVED.

Students have one-half hour for lunch each day. PCSC summer school has an open campus policy which allows students to leave campus and purchase lunch off-site. Students may also bring a sack lunch from home. There is no microwave available to students.
