Summer Science SeaCamp: Marine Biology
Foss Waterway Seaport
This camp will give campers a chance to investigate local marine life up close and personal both in their nature settings and in the Seaport's instructional touch tanks. On our boat day, campers will be able to talk to divers during in a live dive component as the divers explore the world below our research vessel. The divers will collect samples for campers to study and identify.
Campers will participate in the following activities:
- Study marine life in their natural settings
- Build working models of some of marine “critters”
- Conduct experiments to understand how mussels can be natural pollution cleaners
- Participate in hands-on field investigations
- Discover the difference types of plankton
- Eat foods from the sea
- Explore marine food webs, including marine mammals
Monday to Thursday- 9:00am to 3:30pm. Campers may be dropped off as early as 8:45am and must be picked up by 3:45pm.
